That is definitely not a n00b question!
I would say that your shot rotation will depend a bit on
your spec, as well. What spec are you currently?
I know that for me (Marksman), I have done some damage comparisons between my all-out DPS using every shot possible and just using a command macro with an occasional multi-shot throw in and found that the SS rotation works best. The macro I'm using also minimizes latency, so I can post it when I get home.
Also, this will depend on wheter you're doing normal PVE, PVP, or raiding; for example, I might let Meowmixx get a growl off, start with an aimed after that, and then continue spamming SS for PVE... or I might burn down mobs quickly with mana consuming shots if the situation calls for it
If you're BM or SV, it may
